In a bid to tackle the menace of economic and financial crimes through intelligence sharing, the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) 015 Strategic Intelligence Group in Lagos, has sought greater collaboration with the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC).

In a statement issued by the EFCC on Monday, the anti-graft agency disclosed that Air Commodore U.S. Umar of the Nigeria Air Force during a courtesy visit to the Lagos Zonal Command of the EFCC, said the purpose of the visit was to foster collaboration as well the need for effective synergy between the EFCC and NAF.

“All the capabilities we need are inherent in our nation. But there is this seeming struggle for domination that leads us to nowhere.

“Everybody, like every agency, has what is unique to it.

“If you must operate successfully, you must identify the key stakeholders.

“The EFCC is a big player you need to work with if you must succeed.

“There are two denominators of crime: money and arms. For you to know how money is moving, you need a partner in the EFCC,” the agency stated.

Responding, the Lagos Zonal Commander of the EFCC, Michael T. Wetkas, commended NAF for the services it is rendering to Nigeria.

Wetkas expressed readiness to support Umar, both officially and unofficially, to ensure that his stay was successful.
