The Widow, Orphans, Less Privileged and Needy Foundation (WOLPANEF),
has said it is poised to addressing some of the humanitarian issues in Nigeria with a planned conference in Abuja.

In a press statement circulated to the media on Saturday and signed by Bar Nnaemeka Duhu Elias, the BoT secretary, WOLPANEF, the conference has become necessary due to the rising poverty and other issues related to lack of access to basic healthcare and education.

He said Nigeria, a nation known for its rich culture and diversity, faces multifaceted humanitarian challenges that demand urgent
attention and collective action.

“From poverty and conflict to healthcare and education disparities; there are countless pressing issues affecting the lives of millions of her citizens. In response to these challenges, WOLPANEF, a coalition
of compassionate NGOs/Cooperatives/FBOs is organizing a transformative
conference that serves as a call to service for individuals and organizations to come together and make positive impacts on humanity.

“Nigeria, just like many other nations, is a home to numerous humanitarian issues that requires immediate intervention. Pervasive
poverty and economic inequality exacerbate living conditions for many Nigerians, leading to food insecurity, lack of access to clean water, and inadequate healthcare services.

“Additionally, protracted conflicts in some regions have resulted in mass displacement, leaving communities vulnerable and displaced individuals in dire need of humanitarian aid.

“The education system also faces hurdles, hindering young minds from accessing quality education, which is vital for their future
development and the nation’s growth. Addressing these challenges requires a coordinated effort from both governmental and non-governmental bodies,” Nuhu stressed.

He added that WOLPANEF has taken the initiative to organise a purpose
driven conference, focusing on the theme of “Doing Good for Humanity.”

According to him, the conference aims to be a beacon of hope, bringing together passionate individuals and organisations to collaborate, share knowledge, and collectively work towards sustainable solutions.

“WOLPANEF recognises that a lasting change can only be achieved through joint efforts. By rallying together individuals from diverse
backgrounds, including philanthropists, humanitarian workers, social entrepreneurs, academics, and concerned citizens; the conference seeks to ignite a sense of duty and responsibility towards creating positive
impacts on the lives of Nigerians.

He noted that the conference is not just a gathering of like-minded individuals; it is also an intellectual hub, where knowledge and
insights will be shared, that will tackle the root causes of humanitarian issues.

Experts in various fields will deliver thought-provoking presentations and workshops: shedding light on innovative approaches to alleviate poverty, promote peace, improve healthcare, and enhance education
accessibility.

This knowledge-sharing platform will foster an environment conducive to collaboration; enabling participants to exchange ideas,
experiences, and best practices. By connecting humanitarian champions and aspiring change-makers, the conference aims to build a supportive network that will extend well beyond its duration.

At the heart of the conference he said, lays the recognition of outstanding humanitarian champions who have made significant
contributions to bettering the lives of others in Nigeria.

“By honouring these champions, WOLPANEF aims to amplify their impacts and motivate others to follow suit. The awards ceremony will shine a spotlight on their achievements; thus, encouraging the continuation of
their critical work; and inspiring others to embark on their own journeys of service. The conference comes on the 28th September at the International Conference Center Abuja,” He said.
