In the spirit of the 63rd Independence celebration, Nigerian youths and civil society organizations (CSOs), under the aegis of Rising-Up for a United Nigeria (RUN), have appealed to the citizens irrespective of their ethnic and religious inclinations to support President Bola Tinubu -led administration to deliver sustainable dividends of democracy and build a prosperous future for all.

The group, which claims to have millions of youths and CSOs under its fold, made the call at a youth rally at the Unity Fountain, Abuja yesterday.

In his address to commemorate the Independence anniversary, RUN’s national coordinator, Ambassador Solomon Adodo said despite the myriad of challenges that have besieged Nigeria, the country had triumphed and shown great hope for a better future.

Adodo said, “It will be unrealistic to pretend that we don’t have problems. As a nation, we are confronted by a series of challenges but with the kind of leader we have now, there’s no doubt that we are already at the gate of our solution and in no distant time, Nigeria will be transformed like any other developed country in the world, standing shoulder to shoulder with other world economies. This is our hope and it will be a reality if we cooperate with Mr. President in his renewed hope agenda.”

While reaffirming the excellent leadership qualities of Tinubu that have served to galvanise the economy and shredded insecurity into pieces, RUN lauded the Nigerian leader for having a tack for choosing the best and qualified hands from security to economy to the executive and that Nigerians will never be disappointed.

“Mr. President has come prepared to deliver Nigeria from the plague of bad governance and corruption. The star-studded team of President Tinubu has clearly shown that he has placed merit above favouritism and parochial Interests. His security chiefs and executives are best any government has assembled so far in the history of the country. All he needs is our support,” Adodo implored.

The group appreciated the military and other security agencies for exhibiting the highest level of professionalism which has led to the crushing of most security threats in the country.

“On this epoch event, it will be a great disservice not to remember the tireless efforts of our military especially the Nigerian Army in sustaining our democracy in the midst of heated agitations by separatists, terrorists and other unimaginable security threats. The Nigerian Army under the leadership of the current chief of army staff, maj gen T.A. Lagbaja has made remarkable bold and courageous efforts in the trenches to ensure the peace and security is restored in the country. He deserves accolades and we thank President Tinubu for picking the right man for the job,” he said.
