‘Zamfara: 12 Students, 9 Construction Workers Still In Kidnappers’ Den’

Vice Chancellor of the Federal University, Gusau, Prof. Muazu Abubakar has declared that, 12 students and 9 construction workers are still in bandits’ captivity.

Addressing newsmen in his office, Abubakar said of the victims, six students were rescued while nine escaped from the bandits’ captivity, adding that the rest were still with the bandits.

According to him, the university authorities were in touched with the parents of the victims as efforts were being made by the security agents to rescue the remaining students.

He urged parents to be more patient as security agents are doing their best to get the victims freed.

Meanwhile, Governor Dauda Lawal has paid a visit to the university where he symphasised with the school authorities over the unfortunate incident.

Lawal maintained his stand of non-negotiation with the bandits.

 

According to him, necessary security measures are being worked out by his administration to ends the act banditry in the state.

 

The governor also solicited for more collaborative effort with the security agents to achieve the desired goal.
