About 1,762 officers of the Federal Road Safety Corps have passed out from the training camp in Kontagora, Niger State, with martial arts introduced in the training for self defence.

Those who passed out from the camp at Nigerian Army Prestigious Training Center Kontagora were of the marshal inspectorate and road marshal assistant cadre.

The corps marshal, Dauda Aliyu Biu represented by deputy corps marshal training,  Shehu Alkali Zaki, said the officers were expected to be  disciplined change agents from the training they received.

He urged them to exhibit high level  of professionalism and work within the  rule of law with high ethical standard.

The camp commander, Yakubu Muhammed, said the training would add beauty to road traffic management in terms of safety.

He said since the corps officers are not carrying arms, the corps had introduced martial arts into their training for self defence and they are expected to exhibit high standard of professionalism.

Earlier, the Niger sector commander, Kumar Tsukwam, hosted the officers to a dinner where he advised them  on commitment to road Safety management.
