Isaeli-Palestine Conflict IAWPA, Director Amb. Metchie Calls For Peace Urges UN, World Leaders To Intervene.

The International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has condemned the escalation of violence in Israel describing it as avoidable.

 

The foremost peace advocacy group urged the United Nations and world leaders to intervene inorder to prevent further escalation of the conflict.

 

The African Director of IAWPA Amb. Johnny Metchie made this known in a statement he issued over the weekend concerning the conflict which has recorded hundreds of deaths, deaths and displacement of persons.

 

Amb. Metchie said the International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA aside being concerned of the magnitude of destructions taking place in Israel, is also concerned of the ripple effects it will have in Africa where terrorist groups have been unleashing violence on the people.

 

IAWPA through the statement called on both sides to exercise restraint, prioritize the safety of civilians and give room for humanitarian considerations.

“As a foremost peace advocacy group in the world, we are very concerned as regards the number of deaths recorded and we are calling on the Secretary General of the United Nations Antonio Guitarrez to initiate a high powered intervention committee to ensure the conflict does not escalate more than it is. We are also calling in other world leaders and stakeholders to intervene proactively. This is not a time for rhetorics but for concrete actions that will end the crisis and pave way for sustainable peace not only in Israel but in the entire region.” The statement said.

 

Also speaking newsman on the conflict, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke the International Spokesman of IAWPA condemned the crisis and advised that all the stakeholders must as a matter of peace sit in a round table with a view to looking for a permanent solution to the Israeli Palestine conflict which has claimed so many lives over the years. Amb. Nkweke called on the two parties to allow medical and humanitarian supplies to the affected areas.

 

He said IAWPA is critically studying the conflict with a view to reaching out to influential people to wade in inorder for peace to reign. In a similar vain, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke said that the association has concluded plans to host the West Africa Sub-Regional World Peace Press Conference on Thursday 19th October in Abuja 2023 adding that the press conference will afford all African leaders and stakeholders the opportunity to combat numerous challenges facing the region while urging International organizations to participate in the conference.
