The Imo State gubernatorial candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Senator Samuel Anyanwu has said insecurity has reduced the monthly internally generated revenue of the state to less than N500 million.

Anyanwu made the disclosure during the decampment of over 4000 members of the Labour Party to the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to assist the latter clinch the Douglas House Owerri.

The Douglas House Owerri hopeful said under his watch, Imo will not export her youths saying rather he will partner with them to earn money and go for holidays abroad.

Anyanwu, who congratulated the new members, pleaded his readiness to revive the local government areas which according to him had collapsed.

According to him, insecurity and insurgency had led to the collapse of several businesses in the state which had resulted in dwindling internally generated revenue.

He said “As we speak, the economy of Imo has reduced, the internally generated revenue is less than N500million because of insecurity and killings.”

He promised to build satellite government houses in Orlu and Okigwe zones where he will stay and operate for three months in a bid to spread development in the state.
