Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State has reduced the 24-hour curfew imposed on Ifon Orolu and Ilobu communities to 12 hours sequel to the return of peace in the affected area.

A statement made available by the state commissioner for information and public enlightenment Mr Kolapo Alimi in Osogbo stated that Adeleke’s latest directive was anchored on the compliance to last week, peace agreement signed by the communities.

The statement stated that the governor maintained and re-emphasised his earlier directive of the taking complete possession of the disputed lands by his administration until when the imbroglio is finally seen to have been amicably brought to an end by the natives.

The statement read in part “The hitherto 24-hour curfew, from dusk to dawn, earlier in place, has now been directed by the governor to be between 6am and 6pm daily.

“That, based on the recent peace agreement signed by Ifon and Ilobu communities of Orolu and Irepodun local government areas respectively, the administration of Senator Ademola Adeleke is happy to state that the two communities are gradually embracing the need to engender peace and harmony forthwith.
