Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed, has flagged-off daily flight operations from Abuja to Bauchi by the Value Jet Airline with an assurance of the safety of passengers.
The governor said this is part of his administration’s drive to enhance transportation, facilitate the movement of goods, services and people, and promote the growth of the state.
According to him, transportation is the life blood of any thriving economy, and flights from Abuja to Bauchi play a pivotal role in connecting the state with the rest of the nation, describing it as a crucial artery for the exchange of commerce, ideas and culture.
While flagging off the daily flight at the Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport, Bauchi on Tuesday, Bala Mohammed emphasised the state government’s commitment to ensure ease of business, security and safe movement of people and goods within Bauchi State.
“Our government has invested heavily in roads networks, but we recognized that an air travel is equally essential. Bauchi State International Airport, also known as Abubakar Tafawa Balewa International Airport serves not only Bauchi, but also neighbouring states of Yobe, Jigawa, Gombe and Adamawa”.
He expressed gratitude to the Value Jet Airline for choosing Bauchi as one of its destinations, saying the decision is a testimony to the immense potentials and opportunities that the state offers.
The governor told the Value Jet Airline that it should be assured that Bauchi State government stands firmly behind it, and is committed to ensuring the profitability and smooth operations of the airline in the state.
Mohammed reiterated the state government’s unwavering commitment to promoting ease of doing business and ensuring the safety of passengers, stressing that under his leadership Bauchi is open to doing business with the world.
Earlier, the managing director and chief executive officer of Value Jet Airline, Captain Dapo Maje Kodunmi, promised better services to the passengers in line with its partnership with the state government.
