Troops Arrest 26 Criminals, Oil Bunkerers In Abuja

Defence Headquarters (DHQ) has said troops of “Operation Whirl Stroke” have arrested 26 criminals and suspected illegal oil bunkerers in Gwagwalada and Abuja Municipal Area Councils of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja.

The director of Defence Media Operations, Major General Edward Buba, disclosed this when he gave an update on troops’ operations across the country in the last one week.

He said the troops between October 4-5 2023, arrested 26 suspected criminals and illegal oil bunkerers in the two councils.

General Buba said troops of Operation Whirl Stroke conducted a raid operation and arrested suspected terrorists in Takum local government area of Taraba State.

He said the troops on October 4, 2023, following a tip off, conducted a raid on suspected terrorists’ hideouts in Takum council of Taraba State and arrested two terrorists.

He said troops also conducted fighting patrols and rescued a victim in Logo LGA of Benue State.

Buba said the troops on October 3, 2023, responded to information on suspected armed herders’ attack in Logo LGA of Benue State but made no contact.

He said the troops exploited the general area and rescued one victim with a gunshot wound who was evacuated to hospital for medical attention.
