The Ijaw National Congress (INC) has decried its non-inclusion in the recently inaugurated central burial committee for the late Amanyanabo of Kalahari Kingdom and former chairman of the Rivers State Council of Traditional Rulers, Professor Theophilus Princewill.

INC president, Professor Benjamin Okaba, disclosed this yesterday when the organisation paid a condolence visit on a philanthropist and son of the late traditional ruler, Prince Tonye Princewill, at his residence in Port Harcourt.

Okaba, who was represented by the chairman of eastern zone of INC, King Nla Iraron, expressed readiness to participate in the burial with the inclusion of some of its members in the committee.

He lauded the late Kalabari monarch for setting up a high powered pan-Ijaw central burial committee to oversee the burial arrangements of the longest reigning traditional ruler in Rivers State.

The INC president described the late Princewill and former member of the Council of Ijaw Traditional Rulers and Elders (CITRE) as a rare gem and an inspiration to countless many.

Responding, Prince Tonye Princewill thanked the INC for finding time to pay the visit to him and by extension the entire people of Kalabari kingdom.

Princewill, who announced the burial dates as 29th and 30th of November, 2023, told the INC to send in three names which would be included in the committee.

He also told the organisation to put forward their condolence letter/tribute which would be added in the burial programme.
