Foreign Investment: Aviation Minister Commends Caverton Helicopters

The minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, has commended Caverton Helicopters’ Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul (MRO) and Flight Simulator initiatives, describing them as game changers and capable of taking the Nigerian aviation industry to greater heights.

The minister made this comment during a state-of-the-art facility tour of the Caverton Aviation Training Center at Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos yesterday.

Keyamo lauded Caverton Helicopters for its performance and described the company as “one of the clear deliverables that I promised to support, in my maiden speech upon inauguration”

He also said that the facilities are fantastic and have definitely put the Nigerian Aviation Industry on the global map

The minister added that Caverton is one of the developed local industries that can attract foreign investors to Nigeria

Caverton Helicopters, a subsidiary of Caverton Offshore Support Group (COSG), was established with an aim to be a leading player in the Nigerian aviation sector.

The company operates in Lagos, Port Harcourt, Warri, and has a base in Cameroon

The company’s CEO, Olabode Makanjuola, welcomed the minister and described his visit to the Caverton facility as a privilege.

The COO, Mr. Rotimi Makanjuola, gave a brief presentation on what Caverton Helicopters is all about, saying that the company handles a lot of training and maintenance and repairs by itself.

The highlights of the facility tour included the visit to the Maintenance, Repairs and Overhaul (MRO) and the signing of Simulator units of the aviation company as well as presentation of certificate of Honourary Captain of the AW139 Helicopter to the minister by the managing director of the company, Captain Ibrahim Bello

Overall, the Minister’s visit to Caverton Helicopters was a success, and his commendation of the company’s MRO and Flight Simulator initiatives is a positive development for the Nigerian aviation industry.
