Governor of Bauchi State, Bala Mohammed has described the just-concluded 2023 World Cities Forum and Regional Leaders Summit in China as opening new vistas of hope by breaking the barriers to foreign direct investment in Bauchi State.

He said, “Drawing inspiration from a capital like Dubai, we envisage transforming Bauchi into a focal point for trade and investment in the North East. With favourable ranking in the ease of doing business and massive infrastructure initiatives, Bauchi represents a golden opportunity for investors.”

The governor, in a paper he delivered at the recent “Executive Retreat” in Bauchi, said during the state mission, China was evidently impressed with the vast opportunities for mutually beneficial business opportunities with Bauchi.

Bala Mohammed said, “We are committed to fostering a conducive environment for commerce to thrive, including establishing regular flights and promoting Bauchi State as conventional capital, leveraging on our oil and gas sector to spur industrialisation”.

He disclosed that Bauchi has also signed Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with other companies from Saudi Arabia, Italy and other places that were ready to be in Bauchi to work with its citizens and build the economy of the state.

He said, “It is incumbent on us to open our doors to all prospective investors under the pragmatic saddle that enhances our best interest to harness our resources within the ambits of global practice and mutual benefit to all stakeholders irrespective of where they come from, whether from Nigeria, the East or West or any part of the World.”
