More than 1,400 people have been killed in Israel since Hamas launched its attack on Saturday, October 7.

Also, over 3,700 people have been killed in Gaza since then, the health ministry in the Territory said.

Meanwhile, hundreds of vehicles carrying aids were waiting to be allowed into Gaza to bring in vital supplies.

United States President, Joe Biden, has secured an agreement with Egypt to allow up to 20 lorries to enter the territory.

Aid agencies were warning that far more will be needed as the United Nations humanitarian chief, Martin Griffiths, said about 100 lorries a day will be required.

Earlier, United Kingdom Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, met his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu, in Jerusalem, telling him: “We want you to win.”

Israel has continued to bomb Gaza and hundreds of thousands of people have fled their homes.

The enclave also remains under siege, with Israel blocking supplies of water, electricity, food and fuel across its border.

Egyptian state media said the Rafah Crossing into Gaza will be opened for several hours on Friday to allow the delivery of desperately needed aids.

More than 100 trucks carrying aids have been queuing for several days on the Egyptian side of the border, with the United Nations calling for urgent help for civilians in Gaza.
