In a world inundated with mass-produced toys, Mrs. Lawson has emerged as a strong advocate for quality and safety in children’s playthings.

Mrs. Omotola Lawson, CEO of Delightful Toyshopmade, who made this advocacy in statement, in Abuja, said parents and guardians must begin to see the importance of quality toys in the growth of their children.

The statement reads in part: “The world of toys is a realm of wonder and imagination, where the laughter of children mingles with the joys of discovery. Yet, behind the colorful facades and enchanting playthings lies a complex industry, one that can profoundly impact the lives of children and their futures. In Africa, where millions of children eagerly anticipate the arrival of toys, a pressing issue looms—a trade-off between profit and the well-being of the continent’s youngest citizens.

“As the global economy continually evolves, so does the landscape of the toy industry. Many players in this market seek to maximize profits by sourcing inexpensive, overseas-made toys, often at the expense of quality and safety. This practice, though financially tempting, presents significant demerits and dangers, especially for African children.

“Mrs. Omotola Lawson, the visionary CEO of Delightful Toyshop, is leading the charge to reverse this concerning trend. Her voice resounds as an advocate for children’s well-being and the importance of quality and safety in the toys they play with. Mrs. Lawson understands that African children deserve the very best, and she is committed to ensuring that they receive it.

“Mrs. Lawson’s commitment to children’s welfare is evident in her collaborations with renowned global manufacturers of quality toys—MGA Entertainment and Mattel. These partnerships are more than just business ventures; they are a testament to her unwavering dedication to providing African children with toys that meet the highest standards of quality, safety, and educational value.

“Inferior, substandard toys can pose numerous risks to children. They often contain hazardous materials, sharp edges, or small parts that can become choking hazards. Poorly constructed toys may break easily, leading to injuries. Moreover, the absence of safety certifications and rigorous testing can further jeopardize a child’s well-being. Mrs. Lawson recognizes that these risks are unacceptable and that African children should not be exposed to such perils.
