The meeting which was earlier slated for Monday at the instance of the Chief of Staff to President, Femi Gbajabiamila was meant to evaluate the level of implementation of the 15-point Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed by both parties in October 2023.

Although no reason was given for the rescheduled but the organised labour at a briefing on Sunday threatened to boycott any meeting with the federal government with the minister of labour and employment, Simon Lalong in attendance.

LEADERSHIP reports that the labour centre  threatened a fresh strike when it accused the minister of labour and employment, Simon Lalong of breaching item 6 of the MoU and the ratified agreement by taking side with a faction in move to address the crisis rocking the leadership of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW).
