Speaking at the event, the chief executive officer and donor, Engr. Emmanuel John, said that the project, in line with their vision at Ochenuell Mobility was to see 30 per cent of students cycling to school in the FCT by 2025 and that the project which had six critical activities enjoyed the support of the Global Designing Initiative in USA.

He said the project started in May 2023 with a national stakeholders forum on safe streets to school, followed by a feasibility study on select school corridors, then a capacity building programme for the city authorities and security/safety agencies, thereafter, an open streets event held to sensitise the public, drivers and other road users.

Also speaking, the mandate secretary, FCT Transport secretariat, Abuja, Arch Uboku Nya, harped on the commitment of the FCT administration to develop cycling as means of transport in the capital city.

While appreciating the effort of Ochenuel Mobility, Arch Uboku urged beneficiary students to ride safely and asked the school management to make good use of the parking facility.
