Former national treasurer of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Alhaji Bala Muhammad Gwagwarwa has dumped the party and joined Social Democratic Party (SDP).

The former APC chieftain from Kano State, who declared his stand to his political supporters, said he was disappointed with the way things are going in the ruling party in the state government.

He claimed that the party is being run like a family affair, adding that he cannot stay and watch his over 40 years of political experience go down the drain.
Gwagwarwa said,‘’When you look at what is going on in Kano the government is at fault. The business community is kind of shameful, workers are in a bad situation and the party supporters are not given the regard that is supposed to be given to them. The electorate who brought the Governor they are also in a state of fear of the party they are afraid of the kind of leadership the APC government is serving in the state.”
He added that the party is no longer friendly and does not attract more and new members, which is not good for the survival of the party ahead of the general election.

He however noted that he is not joining the SDP to seek any political positions but because the party is only one with a political ideology that can save the country from the many predicaments facing it. He therefore urged his teeming supporters to come out en masse and join the SDP.
