Kwara Lawmaker Launches Tech Summit, Targets 400 Youths

The member representing Ekiti, Isin, Irepodun and Oke-Ero federal constituency of Kwara State in the House of Representatives, Hon. Tunji Olawuyi, has announced plans to take 300 youths in the constituency and 100 from outside his constituency into a tech journey via Ajuloopin Tech Summit.

The lawmaker’s aide on Humanitarian Afairs, IDPs, Migrants and Refugees on Information and Communication Technology, Taye Maxwell, announced this in Omu-Aran, Kwara State while speaking with the journalists.

He said no fewer than 300 constituents and 100 from Ifelodun, Offa and Oyun local government areas of the state would gain insights from experienced tech professionals who will educate, mentor, and guide attendees of all ages.

Maxwell added that the lawmaker wanted to prepare for the digital era for the youths by understanding and utilising the latest digital tools and platforms.

He also disclosed that the Tech Summit is a preparatory event ahead of the Ajuloopin Digital Empowerment Program (ADEP 2024).

He explained that the attendees would receive valuable insights that will set the stage for a successful digital community and contribute to the shaping of ADEP 2024 by providing data on specific tech skills of interest.

Maxwell said the youth will embrace digital revolution in Kwara South by learning from regional experts and contribute to creating a tech-savvy community focused on localising technology solutions.
