Governor of Adamawa State, Ahmadu Fintiri, has paid a total of N10 million as medical bills of some indigent citizens.

The beneficiaries include Lailatu Shuaibu Bello, from Jada and Suwane Boniface, who hails from Numan, who were on admission at the Specialist Hospital, Yola, where they had successful benign tumor surgeries.

The state deputy governor, Professor Kaletapwa Farauta, who spoke for the governor, said the government is reaching out to patients, who are unable to foot their medical bills.

“Government is reaching out to Indigenous patients, especially those that cannot cater for their medical bills.

“Also, a token has been presented to them, apart from the medical bills,” he said.

Bello, whose parents hail from Jada local government area, has been suffering from the tumor since her birth.

Fintiri directed immediate surgery to be done on the patient on account of the government.

The surgery was conducted successfully by four surgeons led by the medical director of the specialist hospital, Dr Wadinga Dauda.

The governor donated cash to her and other patients in the ward to cater for their needs.

Dauda said the surgery would not have been a success without teamwork of the medical experts and support from governor Fintiri.

He also confirmed that the patients were responding speedily.
