JUST-IN: Appeal Court Affirms Aliyu’s Election As Sokoto Gov

The Abuja Division of the Court of Appeal has affirmed the electoral victory of Governor Ahmed Aliyu of Sokoto State.

The Court said the appellant, Saidu Umar Ubandoma of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) failed to prove his allegations against Aliyu in the suit marked CA/S/EP/GOV/SK/30/2023.

Recall that the State Election Petitions Tribunal had dismissed Umar’s petition on September 30, 2023 when a three-man panel resolved all the six grounds of the petition in favour of Governor Aliyu of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
