Nigeria Police Force (NPF) in Katsina State have announced the killing of three notorious bandits’ leaders in the state.
The state commissioner of police, Aliyu Abubakar Musa, revealed this in a statement issued yesterday in Katsina by the police public relations officer, Abubakar Sadiq Aliyu.
The command said its operatives on a joint patrol with members of the vigilance group, engaged the bandits who opened fire on the joint patrol team at the Kwarare area of Jibia LGA, but the officers valiantly returned fire forcing the terrorists to abandon their plan and flee into the nearby bush.
“While combing the scene and surrounding bushes, the bodies of three neutralised suspected kidnappers as well as one operational motorcycle of the bandits were recovered.
“The bodies of the neutralised suspected kidnappers were later identified as those of one Bala Wuta, a suspected notorious bandits’ leader terrorising Jibia LGA and its environs; Dogo Na Sahara; and Hassan Bukuru. Efforts are on to arrest the fleeing suspects as the investigation proceeds,” the statement said.
The CP however urged the officers to sustain the tempo and called on the residents of the state to continue to provide security agencies with crucial and timely information about criminal activities for swift and decisive action to end the menace.
