Expressing gratitude to the Armed Forces of Nigeria (AFN) for their support, Reuben hailed the preparation provided by the Chief of Army Staff, Lieutenant General Taoreed Lagbaja, and other service chiefs, highlighting the crucial role their backing played in her success.

“I utilised this championship as a platform to gear up for next year’s African Games and the upcoming Olympic Games in Paris,” said Reuben, emphasising her readiness for these major competitions.

With Odunayo Adekuoroye being the sole wrestler currently qualified for the Olympics, Reuben expressed hope for more qualifications from her fellow wrestlers.

In other results, Esther Ojolaide secured a silver medal in the women’s 57kg event, while anticipation rises for the performances of eight more Nigerian wrestlers scheduled to compete on Saturday.
