Deputy Speaker Commissions N2.8bn TETFund Projects At UNIZIK

Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Hon Benjamin Kalu has commissioned six buildings constructed at the sum of N2.8 billion with the funding of the Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFund) at the Nnamdi Azikiwe University (UNIZIK) Anambra State.

While four of the buildings were constructed at the Awka campus of the university, the other two others were built at the Agulu, Anaocha local government area School of Pharmaceutical Sciences of the university.

The funds for the construction of the projects were allocated to the university between 2016 and 2020, but the projects were achieved between 2022 and 2023.

The deputy speaker was represented by the member representing Orumba-North/Orumba-South federal constituency of Anambra State, Hon Chinwe Nnabuife.

The projects commissioned yesterday as part of the 17th conversation ceremony of the institution were: Lecture Halls Complex Year 2014-2016 (Merged) Annual Intervention;

Hon Kalu commended both the TETFund management under the executive secretary, Arc Sunny Sunny Echono and the UNIZIK management led by the vice chancellor, Prof Charles Esimone for their efforts and commitments in collaboratively working to deliver on the core mandate of upgrading the nation’s tertiary institutions to compete favourably with any other national and global citadel of teaching, learning and research, noting with great admiration that so many lecturers and other staff members of the university have received further training both local and internationally through funding by TETFund.
