The University College Hospital (UCH) in Ibadan has taken legal action against Olatunde Oginni, a prominent figure in Ijesaland, alleging a breach of contract.

The lawsuit, filed by UCH, also seeks N250 million in damages and the termination of a contract involving De Executive Suites, a project spearheaded by Oginni.

According to legal documents presented by UCH’s counsel, Olaniyi Akin, the hospital accuses Oginni of violating a partnership agreement regarding the completion, operation, and transfer of the University College Hospital Guest House.

The hospital’s claims in the lawsuit include a declaration of breach of the partnership agreement dating back to March 1, 2021, pertaining to the said Guest House located at the South Campus of the University College Hospital in Ibadan.

UCH insists on the validity and legality of their intention to sever ties with Oginni due to repeated breaches. This intent was communicated to Oginni in a letter dated March 1, 2023, which granted him a six-month notice period for termination of the relationship.

Additionally, UCH demands immediate termination of the partnership relationship due to Oginni’s alleged consistent violations of the agreement. The lawsuit seeks N250 million in special and general damages against Oginni, his associates, or any representatives connected to the breach of the partnership agreement.
