Plateau State Governor Caleb Mutfwang has expressed sorrow over the recent violent’ attacks on Gudum village in Mangu local government of area. The invaders who are suspected to be herdsmen killed three people and destroyed property valued at millions of naira.
Mutfwang in a statement issued in Jos by the director of press and public affairs Gyang Bere sympathised with the affected families while denouncing the barbaric and unacceptable killing of law-abiding citizens by people who did mean well for the state.
The assailants reportedly set Edward Latu’s house ablaze, trapping women and children inside two rooms where seven individuals were rescued after forcing the doors open.
Bere said, “Regrettably, Edward Latu and two others succumbed to brutal gunshot injuries” they sustained during the incident. The governor Mutfwang also extended heartfelt condolences to the communities of Maraba Pushit district and Pinper in Komun district, Mangu local government area, which were similarly attacked.
The governor directed security agencies to pursue the attackers to arrest them to face the full wrath of the law.
