The former president of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Alhaji Sani Lulu Abdullahi, has reiterated his determination to use the game of football to create a better future for Nigeria, saying his pet project, FOSLA Academy Karshi, will produce football stars that will shock the world.
He said the Academy, which was established in 2010 with the aim of assisting the less privileged from the primary school to the University level on 100% scholarship while pursuing their careers in the game of football, is a Nigeria’s project and urged Nigerians to key into it, noting that sports is the new ‘Green oil’ that lubricates and facilitates the socio-economic development of many advanced countries of the world.
According to Kogi State born sports administrator, his dream of football will produce more revenue for Nigeria than oil.
“FOSLA Academy is a Nigeria project, it is not for me alone and Nigerians need to key into it,” Lulu said. Adding that, “My dream of football will produce more revenue for Nigeria than oil.”
“Sport can also be seen by researchers as the industry that houses the new ‘Green oil’ that lubricates and facilitates the socio-economic development of many advanced countries of the world. I believe in the power of football to create a better future for Nigeria.
“The performance of FOSLA Academy girls at the inaugural 8 -Aside CAF African Schools Football Championship in Togo where the team were rewarded with ‘fair play trophy’ for their disciplined and strict compliance to CAF rules is an attestation to our commitment to project Nigeria positively.”
According to the Kogi State borned football administrator, the Academy having existed for over a decade and successfully implemented the first phase of the project, it is now aiming to embark on the second phase and third phase which are the full development of the Stadium project and the University.
