President Muhammadu Buhari has condoled with the president of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, over the loss of her son, Prince Paeke Dongban.

In a condolence message to Justice Dongban-Mensem on Monday, President Buhari in a statement by his media aide, Garba Shehu described the death of the young mathematician as tragic.

“I am deeply saddened to learn about the sudden demise of your worthy son Paeke. With his passing away, a promising public career has been tragically cut short. In this hour of grief, our thoughts and prayers are with you, your family and the entire people of Plateau State.
“May the late Paeke Rest in Peace and may the family find the strength to bear the irreparable loss,” the President prayed.
Also, the Northern Governors Forum has commiserated with the president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Monica Dongban-Mensem, over the death on Saturday of her son, Prince Paeke Shapnaan Dongban.
The forum’s chairman and governor of Plateau State Simon Lalong in a statement on behalf of his colleagues described as very sad the death of Shapnaan who was 38 years old.
The statement which was issued by his director of press and public affairs Dr. Makut Simon Macham said the northern governors received the news with shock and are devastated by the loss of a vibrant youth who has been working hard to prepare himself towards national service in his chosen career.
Lalong said the forum stands with her at this difficult moment where she is passing through the pains of losing another son.
He urged her to accept the demise of her son as the will of God and remain faithful to him to comfort her and heal her pains of such tragic loss of a loved one.
The governor prayed God to forgive the sins of the deceased and grant him eternal rest while comforting the entire family.
The deceased, who studied Mathematics at the Federal University of Technology, Minna, Niger State, was an official of the Federal Ministry of Transport in Lagos.
His death occurred 11 years after the passing on of the first son of the jurist, Kwapda’as Rangna’an Samson Dongban, who was killed by a hit-and-run driver in Jos, Plateau State capital in 2011.
