Ekeocha is representing Owerri zone on the board of Imo State FA as executive committee member.
Imo FA chairman, Barr Ifeanyi Dike disclosed this after an emergency meeting of the board at the Dan Anyiam stadium Owerri on Tuesday.

The board held that Ekeocha’s action ran foul of the statutes and was suspended to serve as a deterrent against further abuse of football governing rules.

By the suspension, Ekeocha stands suspended from all Imo football activities for six months, after which it will be subject to deliberations.

In another development, the board has announced Andrew Onyedikachi Ihedibu as the new football Administrator for Ezinihitte Mbaise local government area of Imo state with immediate effect.
Ihedibu replaced Johnny Nwadioha. He is expected to improve football activities within Ezinihitte Mbaise council area.
