Buni, CP Assure Peaceful National Qur’anic Recitation In Yobe

Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, has expressed readiness to safeguard lives and properties of citizens before, during and after the December 22, 2023 national Qur’anic Recitation competition in the state.

The governor, was represented by his deputy, Idi Barde Gubana, gave the assurance at the state security council meeting for the hosting of National Qur’anic Recitation Competition in Damaturu, the state capital.

 According to him, it’s pertinent to have a discussion on the security situation in the state and assured that citizens in Yobe are safe and their properties adequately protected.

He commended the security agencies, traditional rulers and community leaders for their effort in ensuring peace, law and order in the state.

 He wished the special guests and the contingents a safe and peaceful competition in the state.

He explained that December usually comes with festivities which requires adequate surveillance and security of people throughout the occasion.

In his response, the commissioner of police, Yobe State Command, Ahmad Garba, said the security agencies would intensify surveillance and patrol activities in their areas to stop the menace of herdsmen, kidnapping, banditry and  rape among other criminal activities.

He further explained that, the forthcoming National Qur’anic Recitation Competition holding in Damaturu will witness high security presence to ensure hitch free competition.

He appealed to the people of the state to continue to support the security agencies and provide necessary information so as to continue to enjoy the relative peace in the state.
