Veteran Nollywood Actor, Dejumo Lewis, Dies At 80

The Nigerian entertainment industry has been hit with the sad news of the demise of renowned Nollywood actor, Dejumo Lewis, who passed away at the age of 80.

His colleague, Saidi Balogun, confirmed the veteran actor’s passing through an emotional post shared on his Instagram account on Saturday.

In the heartfelt tribute, Balogun shared a photo of the late actor with the caption, “Good night DEJUMO LEWIS, may your soul rest in perfect peace. RIP.”

Though specific details surrounding Lewis’ passing remain undisclosed, Balogun’s poignant message has triggered an outpouring of condolences from fans, fellow actors, and actresses within the Nollywood community.

Dejumo Lewis was a prolific figure in Nigerian film and television, notably recognized for his iconic role as Kabiyesi in “The Village Headmaster,” Nigeria’s longest-running television soap opera that aired on NTA from 1968 to 1988. His stellar performances alongside Justus Esiri, Femi Robinson, and other talented actors made him a household name.
