The general Congress of the Middle Belt Journalists Forum, MBJF, has condemned the Christmas Eve killings of over 150 unarmed civilians in Plateau State by some terrorists and urged the security agencies to fish out and bring to justice the perpetrators.

This was contained in a statement signed by its president, Jonathan Ipaa, and national secretary, Mrs Oikeke Igado-Kure and made available to newsmen in Abuja, after its meeting on Tuesday, December 26th, 2023 which deliberated on the security situation in the Middle Belt.

The statement reads in parts: “We condemn the Christmas Eve killings of 150 unarmed Plateau people by some terrorists. We urge the security agencies to fish out the perpetrators and bring them to Justice. We commend the prompt reactions from the FG and the military by neutralizing the attacks.

“In particular, we commend the prompt relocation of the CDS, Gen Chris Musa with additional troops to Plateau State to further fish out the criminals.

“The MBJF demand for the recovery of public schools, health care facilities and farmlands currently being occupied by these suspected terrorists. We demand that the CDS investigate the allegations of involvement of military in some of the attacks.
