These projects comprise the Tal’udu interchange, a cloverleaf flyover estimated at N12 billion, and the Dan Agundi interchange, consisting of a flyover and underpass valued at N15 billion.

During the foundation stone laying ceremony, the governor emphasized that these major initiatives were instigated to alleviate traffic congestion, facilitate transportation, enhance the city’s aesthetics, mitigate pollution, and fortify infrastructure and assets within the ancient city.

Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to state infrastructure development and expressed determination to provide more democratic dividends, especially to the underprivileged.

He stressed that Kano, being a megacity, requires substantial infrastructural overhaul to cater to the needs of its over ten million urban inhabitants and uplift the socio-economic well-being of the city’s residents.

The governor further said that the 2024 budget, which he signed into law, gives priority to capital projects, receiving a significant portion of 60%.

Yusuf urged the contractors handling the project to ensure timely completion, strictly adhere to the contract provisions, and employ top-quality materials, emphasizing the government’s zero-tolerance policy towards substandard work.

Regarding the financing of the projects, the Governor clarified that it has been a tradition carried on from his predecessors, financing such monumental projects through the joint account managed by the state and local governments.

He appealed to the individuals using the project routes and those residing near the construction sites to show patience due to the inconveniences caused by the projects. He assured that plans are underway to create alternative routes to facilitate smoother traffic flow.
