President, Mesinyiwa Supreme Club, Ikinyinwa-Ijesa in Obokun local government area of Osun State, Professor Babatunde Agbola has stressed the need for communities to unite and support the government in the development of their communities.
The Professor of Urban and Regional Planning who was flanked by the Vice President, Dr. Olufemi Adeniyi and Gen. Secretary Pastor Olusegun Oginni while briefing newsmen in Ikinyinwa shortly after the annual general meeting of the club said government alone cannot successful meet the needs of communities.
He particularly called on successful individuals to give back to their communities through effective participation in developmental projects embarked upon by their communities.
Agbola called on illustrious indigenes of Ikinyinwa home and abroad to contribute their quota to the development of their communities adding that it was not by accident that God created them in the community.
He expressed delight at the successful delivery of Ikinyinwa master plan and jacking up by 40 per cent, salaries of teachers employed in the community secondary school by the club to complement government employees.
Agbola expressed his delight at the elevation of some of the sons and daughters of the community especially the appointment of Hon Mayowa’s Adejoorin as Commissioner for Environment and Sanitation in Osun State and Mr Tayo Dada as the Chief of Staff to the Comptroller General, Nigeria Immigration Service.
