Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), secretary, Hon Ja’afaru Gwagwa, has denied that the administration under the leadership of Hon Christopher Maikalangu has banned the activities of the “AMAC Marshal” as reported recently by some media organisations.

Gwagwa, who disclosed this in an interview with LEADERSHIP in his residence, said the AMAC chairman only restructured and reorganised the security outfit to enable it meet the challenges of securing the council.

He said all staff of the security outfit are still holding the engagement letters of the council, adding that no staff of the “AMAC Marshal” has been disengaged by the administration.

“We have heard many people saying that the AMAC chairman has banned the AMAC Marshal. I want to state here that the AMAC chairman did not ban the AMAC Marshal.

“I must say that the AMAC Marshal is a product of the council, like a baby, which we cannot throw away.

“What the AMAC chairman did was to restructure and reorganize the Marshal. As we speak, all staff of the Marshal are still having our engagement letters and nobody among them has been sacked,” he said.

He noted that the administration has focused on the development of the rural communities in AMAC, by providing them with solar-powered boreholes, electricity and roads to give them the dividends of democracy, adding that more of such infrastructure are expected in the new year
