A non-academic staff at the Yobe State University, Ummie Adamu Mammam, has been killed by unknown gunmen in Damaturu, the Yobe State capital.
Hajiya Ummie, a Faculty Officer at the University, was said to have been killed in her residence at New Bra-Bra Housing Estate located along Gujba bypass road on Wednesday night.
A lecturer at the institution, who confirmed the development to LEADERSHIP, said the deceased was killed by suspected hired killers.
He added that, “It is true, she was killed last night when sleeping at home. She was my friend’s wife. I just confirmed from a member of her faculty now.”
When contacted, the Head of Information of the State-owned University confirmed the murder of Ummie, saying the institution was yet to get full details of the incident.
