Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA) has issued a serious warning to principals and school administrators, holding them accountable for any low student turnout in public schools.

The secretary of the FCTA Education Secretariat Dr. Danlami Hayyo,  gave the warning during the 2024 second term resumption visitation and inspection to select schools in the Territory.

Hayyo, who expressed satisfaction with the turnout observed during the visit, cautioned that any school recording low student attendance would face consequences, deeming it a failure on the part of the school authorities.

“When we discover a school whereby teachers are ready but students are not present or the turnout of the students is low, definitely we are going to change the administration of the school. We are going to bring someone capable hands that can lead,” he said.

The secretary, who highlighted the priority placed on education by the current administration, reiterated the commitment to safeguarding the sanctity of the sector.
