Kano State House of Assembly and the State Pilgrims Welfare Board has mourned the death of Bukar Makoda.
The late Makoda was an esteemed Islamic scholar in Kano who died after a prolonged illness.
The speaker of the Assembly, Hon. Jibril Isma’il Falgore described his death as a great loss to the nation, noting that Makoda was a devoted scholar and business mogul who lived a purposeful life worthy of emulation where he spent most of his time in charity and helping the needy in the society.

In a condolence message to the family, the speaker also identified the deceased as an elder statesman and highly respected personality who’s exit cannot be forgotten and would forever be remembered by the people of the state.

Similarly, the director-general of the Kano State Pilgrims Welfare Board, Alhaji Laminu Rabi’u Danbappa, described Makoda as an esteemed Islamic scholar and a prominent stakeholder in the state.

Danbappa emphasised the demise of Alh. Bukar Makoda has created a significant void, not only within the family but also in the broader Muslim Ummah.
Makoda is survived by children and grandchildren including the state commissioner for water resources, Hon. Dr. Gwani Ali Haruna Makoda.
