Airtel Africa chief executive officer (CEO) Segun Ogunsanya has said he sees progress on foreign exchange issues in Nigeria.
He disclosed this to State House correspondents after meeting with President Bola Tinubu on Wednesday at the Presidential Villa.
Ogunsanya expressed gratitude to the President for policies that have created a more predictable foreign exchange situation, making planning easier for Airtel.
“We still have some issues with FX liquidity, but at least slightly more predictable than it was a couple of months ago. It makes it easier for us to do better planning.
“We’re not out of the woods yet, but we can see light at the end of the tunnel,” he added.
Ogunsanya also notified the president that he will be retiring in six months after a long career of service with Airtel.
However, the company will continue expanding its Nigerian operations.
He said Airtel plans to build one of the largest data centers in Africa in Nigeria.
According to him, the massive data center will serve multinational companies operating in Nigeria and become a hub for the region.
Ogunsanya said the President assured him that Nigerians should expect the best from his administration.
