Katsina State Governor, Malam Dikko Umaru Radda, has extended his condolences to the families of the victims affected in the fatal accident that resulted in the death of seven passengers travelling in the state-owned 18-seater bus.

The ill-fated Katsina State Transport Authority (KTSTA) bus, en route from its office in the Kankara Local Government Area of the state to Abuja, had an accident due to ongoing repairs on the Kaduna/Abuja highway.

The construction work required the diversion of traffic, with contractors placing heavy machinery in proximity to the area, inadvertently contributing to the unfortunate incident.

In a statement issued by the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Ibrahim Mohammed Kaula, it stated, “Regrettably, seven lives, including two children and the bus driver, were lost at the scene of the accident. Governor Radda expresses deep sympathy and stands in solidarity with the bereaved families and the people of Katsina State during this difficult time.”

The statement added that the governor, on behalf of the entire people of the state, offered his heartfelt prayers to Allah SWT, seeking solace for the departed souls and beseeching the Almighty to grant them the highest rank in Jannatul Firdaus.
