Asake shared a heartfelt message on social media, saying, ‘I honour the journey I’ve been on and the journey yet to come. Happy birthday to a resilient soul.’

A few weeks ago, Asake received his first-ever Grammy nomination for his song ‘Lonely At The Top.’ The track is currently nominated in the Best African Music Performance category at the upcoming Grammy Awards, scheduled for next month.

Asake has had a busy year, recently releasing the remix of ‘Lonely At The Top’ featuring H.E.R. The original track became the longest No. 1 hit in Nigeria. Furthermore, his album ‘Untitled’ peaked at No. 4 on Billboard’s World Albums Chart.

Asake’s immense success has allowed him to amass a huge fanbase. In 2023, he sold out two major shows at London’s O2 Arena and New York City’s Barclays Center. Marking his first arena show in North America, Asake became the first African artist to headline and sell out this venue.
