Gombe State chapter of the National Association of Proprietors of Private Schools (NAPPS) has promised to ensure standards in the registration of its members.

The newly elected state chairman of the association, Abubakar Umar, made the pledge at the weekend shortly after he was inaugurated with other executives of the association.

He said private schools were being established to complement the government in providing sound education to the public, adding that proprietors should ensure that their schools met the standards set by the government before opening schools in order not to compromise quality education in the state.

According to him, the association of proprietors on its part will assist the government in ensuring that members schools met the requirements and are standard schools.

“As part of our manifestos, the improvement of the standard of our schools is our utmost priority. It is obvious that the proliferation of private schools in the state is quite encouraging, thus there is a great need for NAPPS as an apex body of all private schools to come in and make sure that all the necessary requirements needed to put in place for the establishment and running a standard private school are followed accordingly,” he stated.
