Baffi Donates Food Items To 150 Military Officers’ Widows In Abuja

A Nigeria based furniture company, Baffi, has donated 150 bags of food stuff to military widows in commemoration of Armed Forces Remembrance Day 2024.

The corporate social responsibility initiative, in collaboration with the National Defence College Officers Wives’ Association (NDCOWA) in Abuja is aimed to support not only to the widows but also to other less privileged families within the barracks community.

The event witnessed the distribution of bags of foodstuffs to 150 widows of deceased military personnel selected from the barracks community.

The initiative aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of those who have lost their loved ones in service.

The representative of Baffi Furniture Mr. Idris Yagmahan making the presentation expressed pride in being part of a community that cares about the nation’s protection.

He stressed the company’s dedication to making a positive impact,adding that the relief package distribution was a way of expressing gratitude to the armed forces and those facing life’s challenges.

He thanked the servicemen and women for their sacrifice emphasizing the company’s commitment to supporting them in their dedicated service.

The Commandant of NDC, Rear Admiral Olumuyiwa Olotu receiving the donation thanked Baffi furniture for their thoughtful gesture.

He stated that recognizing the sacrifices of armed forces members and reaching out to their families left behind is a profound way to appreciate and remember the fallen heroes.

The Commandant said the donation, which touched the lives of the less privileged in the barracks community, is seen as an encouragement for serving officers and soldiers to continue their dedication to making the country safer.

In her remarks the NDCOWA coordinator, Mrs Rhoda Olotu sympathized with the widows and assured them that the sacrifices of their husbands would not be in vain.

She expressed gratitude to Baffi Furniture for their support and reaffirmed the association’s commitment to the welfare and well-being of all women and children in the barracks, especially widows, orphans, and the less privileged.

The President of the Alumni Association of the National Defence College,

Air Commodore Darlington Abdullahi in his remarks commended Baffi Furniture for their significant contribution.

He said the donation would greatly support the military widows and encouraged them to utilize the assistance received.
