The two suspects are Emmanuel Osumaje AKA ‘Obo’ (22) and Miracle Michael, popularly known as Awanio.

Late Mudiagbe, who was also a market vigilante, was shot in his house after the men attacked him in his house at the Decima Area of the town and made away with his gun and live cartridges.

The DPO in charge of Okpanam police station, CSP Gambo Ado, said the attack took place at the gate of the station while the police officers were driving out in response to the distress call.

Three vigilante men sustained injuries but two have been discharged while two others were unhurt.

“They were arrested last night. We arrested Obo and it was he who led us to Awanio,” he said.

The commissioner of police, Ari Muhammed Ali, said the command was closing up on the other members of the gang.  The state government has equally decried the attacks.
