Kano State government has revealed plans to come up with new strategies that will enable full involvement of private organisations in the development of the education sector in the state.
It also noted that the state will welcome any private organisation or individual willing to invest especially in the sector.

The state commissioner for education, Alhaji Umar Haruna Doguwa made this known during the official flag off of kiosk installation in 100 Secondary Schools, Games and Spelling Bee Competition among Senior Secondary Schools organised by Kano State Senior Secondary Schools Management Board (KSSSMB) in collaboration with GHADCO Nigeria Limited at Government Girls College, Dala.
Doguwa affirmed that Kano State being the commercial centre not only in Nigeria but Africa at large, is blessed with private organisations that are willing to complement government’s effort in improving the sector.
According to him, “We know how powerful Kano is in terms of commercial activities, there are many private organisations operating in Kano that have the courage to give their support especially on education, so the government will do everything possible to carry them along.

“I want to therefore reiterate this administration’s resolve to welcome any private organisation or individual willing to come to the state to invest in the available areas of investment opportunities especially the education sector”.
The commissioner however pointed out that, the present administration of Governor Abba Yusuf has achieved a lot of success despite the numerous challenges among which include the renovation and construction of classrooms, procurement and distribution of teaching materials worth millions of Naira to various schools across the state, as well as provide more than 60 higher capacity schools buses to facilitate easy conveyance of students to their respective schools.

The ministry’s director of public enlightenment, Balarabe Kiru, in a statement noted that earlier in his remarks, representative of GHADCO Nigeria Limited Ghaddafi Isyaku, said the programme was initiated out of desire to provide commercial activities to the affected schools and serve as their source of income generations.
