The governor further said that the race to finish the projects explains why his administration is not slowing down even as it enters the last lap of the end of his government.

El-Rufai also said that the prices of cement, iron rods and building materials are skyrocketing by the day, ‘’so we are eager to complete the projects before they shoot through the roof.’’

The governor who said that government is a continuum, said that the next administration will complete the projects that his government is unable to complete.

‘’Thankfully, Senator Uba Sani, the All Progressives Congress (APC) flagbearer and his running mate have been with us since 2015. The senator was Political Adviser in the first term and the Deputy Governor headed our Primary Healthcare Agency, in the first term.

‘’So, we are lucky that it will be a continuity government. They will continue from where we stopped. The people of Kaduna state will benefit immensely if they vote APC to power,’’ he assured.

El-Rufai said that his government wants to complete all the ongoing market projects before May 29, 2023.

According to him, Phases one and two of Sabon Gari market have been completed, Unguwar Rimi market is almost ready, so is Kasuwan Barci market and Kawo market.

‘’I’m happy that we kept to our promise. No shop was given to any government official. Shops were allocated to traders and not given as political patronage as was the case before,’’ he said.

The governor said that those traders who don’t have the financial wherewithal to buy the shops, should approach either Ja’iz Bank or Sterling Bank for a mortgage arrangement.

El-Rufai said that the sale of shops have been successful in Kasuwan Magani and Sheikh Abubakar Gumi markets, adding that those who were benefitting from the old system of allotting shops to government officials or politicians, were the ones that criticized the present arrangement.
