Zulum Appoints Shettima As New Waziri Of Borno

Governor Babagana Umara Zulum has approved the appointment of Mutawali Shettima Bukar as the new Waziri of Borno.

The governor’s approval was based on the recommendation of the Shehu of Borno, Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai Elakanemi.

Prior to his appointment, Shettima was a deputy registrar at Borno State University. He served as a board member of the Borno Fertiliser Company Ltd, Maiduguri, Borno Islamic Preaching Board, At-Risk Children Programme and held the titles of Mala Kaka of Borno, District Head of Gwange, and Shettima Kanuribe of Borno.

The new Waziri of Borno holds a diploma in civil law and a bachelor’s degree in Islamic Studies. He is proficient in Kanuri, English, and Arabic.

Zulum said Shettima’s appointment was based on his excellent credentials and record of public service.
