But the state police command said only three deaths were recorded in a crisis that erupted in the area.

The state chairman of the GADFAN, Alhaji Ali Mohammed Jowuro, who disclosed this while speaking to newsmen in Ilorin, the state capital, called on the state government and security agencies to address the killing of their colleagues in some parts of the state.

Jowuro alleged that, “over 10 people were killed when youths and locals in Oke-Ode, Ifelodun local government area attacked us and some members of Miyetti Allah.

“Several people were injured including women and children and more than 100 houses burnt with over N200 million lost in the process.”

He attributed the attack to youths and locals of the town who he claimed “wrongly accused my kinsmen to be behind a robbery attack that led to the death of a woman in the community.”

Jowuro called on security agencies to investigate the matter and fish out those behind the killing of his kinsmen.

He urged traditional rulers and other concerned authorities in the state to address the issue to ensure peace in the area.

He restated the commitment of the Fulanis to the peace and unity of the state and the country at large.

Jowuro thanked Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRasaq’s administration for its efforts towards ensuring security of lives and property in the state.

The spokesperson of the state police command, Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, who confirmed the incident, said “only three deaths have been confirmed so far.”

“The police are on top of the situation and normalcy has been restored to the area through the effort of the CP, Victor Olaiya. So, we are urging for calm while we continue the investigation,” she stated.
