The Nigerian Tulip International Colleges (NTIC) won 19 medals during the online international Mathematic challenge, which was organised by the Pan-Asia International School in Thailand.
The event, according to the organisers, was aimed at motivating students to see “math in a different light, have their interest stimulated in the subject, and think about how they can apply math in their future studies and daily life.”
52 NTIC students participated in the competition, where more than 8,270 students from about 70 countries were participants.
19 students from NTIC schools were awarded with medals, while six clinched the honourable mention awards.
The outstanding NTIC students received nine Gold medals, six Silver medals, four bronze medals and six honourable mentions.
Due to their exceptional performances, they have been invited to participate in the Global Round of the Copernicus Mathematics Olympiad, scheduled to take place in New York in July 2024, to be hosted by Columbia University.
