Amnesty Programme Denies Ex-agitators’ New Body Recognition

The acting national chairman of the Presidential Amnesty Programme (PAP), Phase 2, Ibena Rufus Salvation, has called on the interim administrator, Maj. Gen. Barry Ndiomu and the general public to disregard reports by some ex-agitators who claimed to have been elected as the new Phase 2 national body executive.

Ibena made the call in Yenagoa on Thursday, while reacting to an online publication made by John Esuku, Julius Belemu Demaro Vwaghie, Passman Akpos and Gift Agamene who claimed they were the rightful elected executives of the Phase 2 national body.

According to Ibena, the authentic Phase 2 exco recognized by the Presidential Amnesty office and led by the national chairman, Olotu Nwanemi is still existing and intact, adding that the self-acclaimed new national body exco is not recognized.

He said, „Our national chairman, Olotu Nwanemi remains the chairman even though he is not on ground at the moment. Ibena Rufus Salvation is acting on behalf of the exco, Charles Akatakpo is the vice chairman, Clement Wodo secretary general and Timothy Tensibe acting spokesman.

“The public should disregard the publication they made claiming they are a new exco body. It is not done anywhere and our exco is intact, working, functioning towards the benefit of every member in Phase 2.

“The 6166 members of Phase 2 Presidential Amnesty beneficiaries should disregard every publication made by John Esuku and his members. We remain intact, authentic and it is the only body recognised by the Presidential Amnesty office. Don’t forget that if your exco is not recognised by the interim administrator and the office, you are nowhere to be found.

„So, they should not deceive themselves, nobody knows them as the exco members until the tenure of Olotu Nwanemi and his exco expire. That is when unanimously every leader will come together and get a new body elected.
